Rabia was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in January. The surgeon at Çankaya General Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,250, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $950 short. my mother has been in and out of Çankaya General Hospital since January. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,250 is more than we can find. While we wait, Rabia struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Rabia won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
