Surgery fund for Peace: cataract surgery in Lagos

Peace was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in April. The surgeon at Lagos Orthopedic Institute recommended cataract surgery, and She is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,200, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $1,100 short.
my mother has been in and out of Lagos Orthopedic Institute since April. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,200 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Peace struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Peace won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
