Surgery fund for Pawan: ACL reconstruction in Kathmandu
A scheduled ACL reconstruction in August is out of reach without help covering $700 of the cost.

Pawan was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in May. The surgeon at Saint Elizabeth Hospital recommended ACL reconstruction, and He is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $930, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $700 short.
my son has been in and out of Saint Elizabeth Hospital since May. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $930 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Pawan struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Pawan won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $700 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $40
• Physiotherapy sessions: $90
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $280
• Post-operative medication: $40
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $250
