Surgery fund for Obinna: laparoscopic cyst removal in Lagos
A scheduled laparoscopic cyst removal in May is out of reach without help covering $700 of the cost.

Obinna was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in March. The surgeon at Lagos University Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and He is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $930, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $700 short.
my husband has been in and out of Lagos University Hospital since March. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $930 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Obinna struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Obinna won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $700 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $40
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $430
• Travel and lodging for the family: $25
• Post-operative medication: $40
• Hospital stay (4 nights): $165
