Nonso was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in March. The surgeon at Warri Regional Medical Center recommended septoplasty, and He is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,100, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,050 short. my son has been in and out of Warri Regional Medical Center since March. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,100 is more than we can find. While we wait, Nonso struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Nonso won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
