Nina was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in August. The surgeon at Amsterdam Regional Medical Center recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $8,000, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $6,000 short.
my mother has been in and out of Amsterdam Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $8,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Nina struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
