Surgery fund for Nilesh: palate reconstruction surgery in Hubballi
After a cleft palate needing repair, Nilesh was cleared for palate reconstruction surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In April I was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair. My surgeon at Saint Matthew Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for June. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,900, and after what my insurance will pay, I'm still $950 short.
Doctors at Saint Matthew Hospital told me a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. I work as a market vendor, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,900 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a market vendor have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. I'll not be able to look after the children alone during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $950 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $35
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $410
• Post-operative medication: $25
• Hospital stay (5 nights): $450
• Travel and lodging for the family: $30
Every share and every dollar helps.
