Nicolas was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections in December. The surgeon at Grenoble Community Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and He is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,750, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $4,000 short. my father has been in and out of Grenoble Community Hospital since December. The doctors say a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,750 is more than we can find. While we wait, Nicolas struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Nicolas won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $4,000 goes: • Travel and lodging for the family: $230 • Physiotherapy sessions: $400 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,250 • Hospital stay (4 nights): $990 • Post-operative medication: $130 Thanks for being kind about this. - Léo
