Natalia was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in July. The surgeon at Houston Community Hospital recommended ACL reconstruction, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $11,500, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $6,950 short. my mother has been in and out of Houston Community Hospital since July. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $11,500 is more than we can find. While we wait, Natalia struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Natalia won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $6,950 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,200 • Hospital stay (3 nights): $2,750 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $420 • Post-operative medication: $410 • Physiotherapy sessions: $860 • Travel and lodging for the family: $310 Glad we found this place.
