Nada was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in August. The surgeon at Cairo General Hospital recommended valve repair surgery, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,200, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,100 short. my wife has been in and out of Cairo General Hospital since August. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,200 is more than we can find. While we wait, Nada struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Nada won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $1,100 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $520 • Hospital stay (5 nights): $230 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $105 • Post-operative medication: $45 • Physiotherapy sessions: $130 • Travel and lodging for the family: $70 Glad we found this place.

  • Good luck. Wishing Nada a smooth procedure and a full recovery. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Belém
