Nabirye was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in April. The surgeon at Mwanza Orthopedic Institute recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $800, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $400 short. my sister has been in and out of Mwanza Orthopedic Institute since April. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $800 is more than we can find. While we wait, Nabirye struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Nabirye won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $400 goes: • Post-operative medication: $55 • Physiotherapy sessions: $70 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $45 • Travel and lodging for the family: $40 • Hospital stay (4 nights): $190 Thank you for reading my story.
