Surgery fund for Mwende: laparoscopic endometriosis surgery in Kampala
A scheduled laparoscopic endometriosis surgery in November is out of reach without help covering $450 of the cost.

Mwende was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in August. The surgeon at Kampala Community Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $560, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $450 short.
my husband has been in and out of Kampala Community Hospital since August. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $560 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Mwende struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Mwende won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $450 goes:
• Hospital stay (4 nights): $300
• Travel and lodging for the family: $70
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $80
Thanks for being kind about this.

Best of luck. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Blessings
