Mussa was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in January. The surgeon at Fort Portal Regional Medical Center recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and He is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,200, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $900 short.
my father has been in and out of Fort Portal Regional Medical Center since January. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,200 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Mussa struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Mussa won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
