Mubashir was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in November. The surgeon at Peshawar Orthopedic Institute recommended a craniotomy, and He is scheduled for February. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,800, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $900 short.
my husband has been in and out of Peshawar Orthopedic Institute since November. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,800 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Mubashir struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Mubashir won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
