Monique was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in December. The surgeon at Lyon Regional Medical Center recommended gallbladder removal, and She is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $8,500, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $6,700 short.
my mother has been in and out of Lyon Regional Medical Center since December. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $8,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Monique struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Monique won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
