Surgery fund for Mikael: a partial thyroidectomy in Stockholm
A scheduled a partial thyroidectomy in November is out of reach without help covering $2,350 of the cost.

Mikael was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections in August. The surgeon at Stockholm Regional Medical Center recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,150, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $2,350 short.
my son has been in and out of Stockholm Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,150 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Mikael struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Mikael won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $2,350 goes:
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $1,550
• Post-operative medication: $340
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $460
Thanks for being kind about this.
