Mia was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in August. The surgeon at Saint Francis Hospital recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $14,250, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $8,600 short.
my mother has been in and out of Saint Francis Hospital since August. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $14,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Mia struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Mia won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
