Mercy was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in August. The surgeon at Kano Regional Medical Center recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,650, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,000 short.
my mother has been in and out of Kano Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,650 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Mercy struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Mercy won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
