Marcia was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in February. The surgeon at Half-Way Tree University Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,700, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,900 short.
my wife has been in and out of Half-Way Tree University Hospital since February. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,700 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Marcia struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Marcia won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
