Marcel was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in February. The surgeon at Munich General Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,750, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $2,850 short. my father has been in and out of Munich General Hospital since February. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,750 is more than we can find. While we wait, Marcel struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Marcel won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
