Surgery fund for Mahesh: a craniotomy in Kochi
Mahesh needs a craniotomy at Saint Luke Hospital and the family is $1,150 short of the hospital's estimate.

In July I was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery. My surgeon at Saint Luke Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and I have been placed on the schedule for November. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,650, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $1,150 short.
Doctors at Saint Luke Hospital told me endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without a craniotomy. I work as a market vendor, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,650 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a market vendor have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. I'll not be able to drive during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $520
• Hospital stay (5 nights): $280
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $100
• Post-operative medication: $60
• Physiotherapy sessions: $105
• Travel and lodging for the family: $85
Thank you so much.

You're not alone, Mahesh. Hope the doctors have good news. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
