Surgery fund for Luna: cataract surgery in San Francisco
Luna needs cataract surgery at San Francisco Regional Medical Center and the family is $3,650 short of the hospital's estimate.

Luna was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in March. The surgeon at San Francisco Regional Medical Center recommended cataract surgery, and She is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,550, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $3,650 short.
my daughter has been in and out of San Francisco Regional Medical Center since March. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,550 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Luna struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Luna won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $3,650 goes:
• Physiotherapy sessions: $710
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $2,150
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $550
• Post-operative medication: $240

Sending good thoughts, Victoria. Wishing Luna a smooth procedure and a full recovery. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
