Surgery fund for Luca: cataract surgery in Surrey
Luca needs cataract surgery at Saint Anne Hospital and the family is $3,900 short of the hospital's estimate.

In April I was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. My surgeon at Saint Anne Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for June. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $4,900, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $3,900 short.
Doctors at Saint Anne Hospital told me a benign brain tumor will get worse without cataract surgery. I work as a taxi driver, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $4,900 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a taxi driver have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. I'll not be able to look after the children alone during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
