Surgery fund for Liam: ACL reconstruction in Vancouver
After osteoarthritis in the right knee, Liam was cleared for ACL reconstruction, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Liam was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in June. The surgeon at Vancouver Community Hospital recommended ACL reconstruction, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,000, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $4,950 short.
my husband has been in and out of Vancouver Community Hospital since June. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Liam struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Liam won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $4,950 goes:
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $3,450
• Physiotherapy sessions: $900
• Travel and lodging for the family: $380
• Post-operative medication: $220
With deep gratitude,
Donna

Thinking of you and your family. Wishing Liam a smooth procedure and a full recovery. We're a small family in Toulouse but we're thinking of you. All the best.
You're not alone, Donna. I hope things turn around soon. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. All the best.
