Kshitija needs gallbladder removal at Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital and the family is $800 short of the hospital's estimate.

Kshitija was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in November. The surgeon at Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital recommended gallbladder removal, and She is scheduled for March. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,600, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $800 short.
my wife has been in and out of Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital since November. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,600 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Kshitija struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Kshitija won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $800 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $25
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $80
• Physiotherapy sessions: $90
• Travel and lodging for the family: $25
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $580
Thank you so much.
