Surgery fund for Kobina: cataract surgery in Tema
Kobina needs cataract surgery at Saint Elizabeth Hospital and the family is $700 short of the hospital's estimate.

Kobina was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in September. The surgeon at Saint Elizabeth Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,150, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $700 short.
my father has been in and out of Saint Elizabeth Hospital since September. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,150 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Kobina struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Kobina won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $700 goes:
• Hospital stay (5 nights): $500
• Physiotherapy sessions: $45
• Post-operative medication: $50
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $105
