Keith was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in August. The surgeon at San Diego Regional Medical Center recommended spinal decompression surgery, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,250, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $5,000 short.
my son has been in and out of San Diego Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Keith struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Keith won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
