Surgery fund for Karina: a partial thyroidectomy in Puebla
After severe cataracts in both eyes, Karina was cleared for a partial thyroidectomy, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Karina was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in September. The surgeon at Puebla Orthopedic Institute recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,800, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,250 short.
my wife has been in and out of Puebla Orthopedic Institute since September. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,800 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Karina struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Karina won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $55
• Travel and lodging for the family: $130
• Physiotherapy sessions: $170
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $895
Glad we found this place.
