Kanokwan was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in May. The surgeon at Saint Francis Hospital recommended spinal decompression surgery, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,300, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,600 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Saint Francis Hospital since May. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,300 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Kanokwan struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Kanokwan won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
