Surgery fund for Kalyani: palate reconstruction surgery in Mysuru
After a thyroid nodule that needs removal, Kalyani was cleared for palate reconstruction surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In April I was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal. My surgeon at Mysuru General Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for July. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,400, and after what my insurance will pay, I'm still $700 short.
Doctors at Mysuru General Hospital told me a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. I work as a restaurant cook, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,400 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a restaurant cook have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. I'll not be able to look after the children alone during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $700 goes:
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $175
• Post-operative medication: $40
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $485
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Best of luck. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Love from Entebbe.
Rooting for you, Kalyani. I hope things turn around soon. God bless
Sending love, Kalyani. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't give up. Blessings.
So sorry you're going through this. Shared this with my family. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Uppsala
Thinking of you and your family. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care.
Wishing you peace, Kalyani. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 8 years ago and strangers helped me out.
