She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $3,000. The registrar has said Lucy can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Lucy has a distinction average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Lucy would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
