Jorge was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in May. The surgeon at Saint Elizabeth Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,550, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $2,500 short. my son has been in and out of Saint Elizabeth Hospital since May. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,550 is more than we can find. While we wait, Jorge struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Jorge won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $2,500 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $1,050 • Hospital stay (3 nights): $880 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $160 • Post-operative medication: $55 • Physiotherapy sessions: $200 • Travel and lodging for the family: $155 Thank you so much. - Gonzalo
