Surgery fund for Joko: cataract surgery in Jakarta Selatan
After an aortic valve defect, Joko was cleared for cataract surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Joko was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in May. The surgeon at Saint Elizabeth Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,650, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,150 short.
my son has been in and out of Saint Elizabeth Hospital since May. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,650 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Joko struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Joko won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.

• Hospital stay (5 nights): $300
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $65
• Post-operative medication: $25
• Physiotherapy sessions: $80
