Jamal was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in July. The surgeon at Half-Way Tree Orthopedic Institute recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,050, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,550 short.
my son has been in and out of Half-Way Tree Orthopedic Institute since July. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,050 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Jamal struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Jamal won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
