Surgery fund for Jackson: ACL reconstruction in Greensboro
After a herniated spinal disc, Jackson was cleared for ACL reconstruction, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In April I was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc. My surgeon at Greensboro Regional Medical Center recommended ACL reconstruction, and I have been placed on the schedule for July. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $4,900, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $3,900 short.
Doctors at Greensboro Regional Medical Center told me a herniated spinal disc will get worse without ACL reconstruction. I work as a taxi driver, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $4,900 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a taxi driver have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 10 weeks. I'll not be able to work a full shift during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
