Surgery fund for Iván: emergency hernia repair in Córdoba
After a torn ligament that needs reconstruction, Iván was cleared for emergency hernia repair, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In November I was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction. My surgeon at Córdoba University Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and I have been placed on the schedule for February. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $3,600, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $1,800 short.
Doctors at Córdoba University Hospital told me a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without emergency hernia repair. I work as a hotel cleaner, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $3,600 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a hotel cleaner have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. I'll not be able to stand for more than ten minutes during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $1,800 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $125
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $370
• Physiotherapy sessions: $130
• Post-operative medication: $105
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $1,070

Sending love, Iván. This could happen to any of us. Sent it to 35 people at work.
You're not alone. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Córdoba.
