Ines was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in August. The surgeon at Cairo Orthopedic Institute recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,900, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,150 short.
my sister has been in and out of Cairo Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,900 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Ines struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Ines won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
