Ian was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in May. The surgeon at Parramatta General Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and He is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $9,500, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $7,500 short. my father has been in and out of Parramatta General Hospital since May. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $9,500 is more than we can find. While we wait, Ian struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
