Henrique was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in November. The surgeon at Duque de Caxias Regional Medical Center recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and He is scheduled for February. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,000, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,200 short.
my brother has been in and out of Duque de Caxias Regional Medical Center since November. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Henrique struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Henrique won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
