Grayson was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in August. The surgeon at Manukau Orthopedic Institute recommended gallbladder removal, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $10,750, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $7,500 short.
my son has been in and out of Manukau Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $10,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Grayson struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Grayson won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.

Sure. The biggest one is surgeon and anesthesia fees, $3,200. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one.
