Surgery fund for Grace: palate reconstruction surgery in Derry
After a torn ligament that needs reconstruction, Grace was cleared for palate reconstruction surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Grace was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in July. The surgeon at Derry General Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,400, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,450 short.
my sister has been in and out of Derry General Hospital since July. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,400 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Grace struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Grace won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Travel and lodging for the family: $350
• Physiotherapy sessions: $840
• Post-operative medication: $260

Wishing Grace a smooth procedure and a full recovery. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless!
