Surgery fund for Fiifi: palate reconstruction surgery in Accra
After osteoarthritis in the right knee, Fiifi was cleared for palate reconstruction surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Fiifi was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in April. The surgeon at Accra Regional Medical Center recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,700, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,200 short.
my father has been in and out of Accra Regional Medical Center since April. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,700 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Fiifi struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Fiifi won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $45
• Physiotherapy sessions: $130
• Hospital stay (4 nights): $420
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $605
