Surgery fund for Eugene: palate reconstruction surgery in Los Angeles
Eugene needs palate reconstruction surgery at Los Angeles Regional Medical Center and the family is $5,800 short of the hospital's estimate.

Eugene was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in August. The surgeon at Los Angeles Regional Medical Center recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $8,250, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $5,800 short.
my father has been in and out of Los Angeles Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $8,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Eugene struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Eugene won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $5,800 goes:
• Physiotherapy sessions: $680
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $3,000
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $710
• Travel and lodging for the family: $310
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $1,100
Thanks for being kind about this.

Good luck. Shared it with a few friends. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Los Angeles.
