Esperanza was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in July. The surgeon at A Coruñan Orthopedic Institute recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,900, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $3,900 short.
my sister has been in and out of A Coruñan Orthopedic Institute since July. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,900 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Esperanza struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Esperanza won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.

Sure. The biggest one is surgeon and anesthesia fees, $1,900. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Good question.
