Einat was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in July. The surgeon at Jerusalem University Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,000, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $5,300 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Jerusalem University Hospital since July. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Einat struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Einat won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.

Sure. The biggest one is hospital stay (2 nights), $2,200. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.
