Eduardo was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in August. The surgeon at Saint Catherine Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,300, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $1,650 short.
my brother has been in and out of Saint Catherine Hospital since August. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,300 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Eduardo struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Eduardo won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $1,650 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $380
• Travel and lodging for the family: $160
• Post-operative medication: $150
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $770
• Physiotherapy sessions: $190
Every share and every dollar helps.

Rooting for you, Hugo. Looking forward to the next update. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best
Your post was clear and honest. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Take care.
