Dua was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in July. The surgeon at Peshawar University Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $750, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $450 short. my daughter has been in and out of Peshawar University Hospital since July. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $750 is more than we can find. While we wait, Dua struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Dua won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
