Doris was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in October. The surgeon at Sydney General Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for February. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $11,000, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $6,650 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Sydney General Hospital since October. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $11,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Doris struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
