Surgery fund for Dmitry: knee replacement surgery in Novosibirsk
Dmitry needs knee replacement surgery at Novosibirsk Regional Medical Center and the family is $1,450 short of the hospital's estimate.

In November I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee. My surgeon at Novosibirsk Regional Medical Center recommended knee replacement surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for February. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $2,400, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $1,450 short.
Doctors at Novosibirsk Regional Medical Center told me osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without knee replacement surgery. I work as a delivery rider, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $2,400 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a delivery rider have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. I'll not be able to look after the children alone during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.

• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $550
• Hospital stay (3 nights): $390
• Post-operative medication: $110
• Physiotherapy sessions: $230
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $170
