Dipika was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in April. The surgeon at Pune University Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and She is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,450, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $1,000 short.
my sister has been in and out of Pune University Hospital since April. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,450 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Dipika struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Dipika won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
